Yes, it is almost the 25th of June again, the day I’ve been born and this year will be my 30th year on this planet.
My Bday vibe changed when on the same day in 2009 M.J. passed away, so I won’t be celebrating my own life but also the music M.J. has left us behind.
Every day I will post a video of a Michael Jackson song that is passing by on my Ipod.

I like this song because of the message, the paparazi has always been on Michael’s back, they all wanted to have his picture and wanted to know the latest story. I can only imagine how it would be like to be as known as Michael Jackson and really not able to go anywhere without paparazi harrasing you. Not even Brad Pitt had that amount of paparazi coming after him. I also like the video for its visuals. They were and still are stunning!

A Thousand Words
Yesterday I watched the new Eddie Murphy movie, “A Thousand Words.” In this comedy Eddie plays Jack McCall, a represantative of a mayor publishing house who has to sign the hottest person out there, who happens to be a spiritual guru. Jack is known for his talkative mouth and when he talks too much, just to get the guru to sign with his publisher, he finds a bodhi tree in his own backyard. Now Jack only gets a thousand words and needs to find himself again before all the leaves fall down and the tree dies.
This is the first movie where Eddie Murphy is playing the lead since …….Imagine That. His movie before this one was the Ben Stiller movie, Tower Heist.
What I like about this movie is that Eddie shows a lot of comedic genuisness when it comes to acting with only using body language. It is said that acting comes more to its right when there is little dialogue. Well, having dialogue and having to use only body language worked perfectly in this film. I haven’t laughed so hard since I saw Meet Dave.
Eddie Murphy really hasn’t lost his touch and I hope he will come back to do a one-man show! You should all go and watch this movie.

Jackie’s son is kicking ass!
So Jackie Chan has decided, for the first time ever to attend the press release for his son’s, Jaycee Chan, new movie called “Double Trouble” in which he stars with Jessica Cambensy, , Xia Yu and Deng Jiajia.
Jaycee Chan plays an security guard who get suspected of being involved with a art theft of a legendary Chinese painting. Together with a bodygaurd from Beijing he needs to track the thieves and retrieve the painting.
Now the trailer looked nice and you can see that Jackie Chan and his stunt team helped with the stunts and choreo’s. I like to see this movie so I will be on the look out.

Prometheus overrated?
Ridley Scott, the man who gave us Alien, The Gladiator….American Gangster…..he is back in 2012 and going back to his “roots” with his new Science fiction movie: “Prometheus.”
This was / is one of the most anticipated movies of this year, together with The Avengers, The Amazing Spiderman and The Dark Knight Rises. Where The Avengers was amazing and lived up to the hype…..Prometheus came in with the same hype. Did it live up to it?
I just came from the theatre watching this movie with my girl. I must say, visually this is one great looking movie! All the vfx are just crazy! I read about the interior of the ship who caries the title name “Prometheus” is simply amazing! The world he created was great!
Oh maybe some spoilers…then don’t read any further….
Ridley managed to get a great cast. Charlize Theron, she is great, loved her in this movie. Michael Fassenbender who plays an android, amazing! Noomie Rapace…she was surprising, she’s got some abs! Idris Alba is freaking tall! Seen him in some movies, Thor for example, but for the first time I really noticed that dude is tall! Cool dude.
The story is about some scientists who find ancient scriptures all over the world from ancient civilizations who all pin piont to the same galaxy. How did they know about this while never even met each other? And the even bigger question, where do we come from?
The movie, and I don’t want to spoil too much, is about to answer those two questions, we see the galaxy and planet depicted on all the ancient scriptures and also the Earth like aliens who created us, mankind. You’d think that this would make up for a cool story, a movie with a nice pace…….no, sorry, Ridley Scott did not deliver on that point. I was expecting something with the same greatness as Alien when I first saw that movie. The movie was more like, alright, oke, oke……and sometimes it was a bit boring. There wasn’t happening enough to really keep your attention.
So was it a bad movie……? No, but it wasn’t the kind of movie I expected to see. If I would rate this movie I’d give it 3 stars because: 1.it is Ridley Scott’s return to the genre that made his name. 2.the visual look was really great and 3.the acting was very good. Too bad the story was not portrait with some more…… Alien- American Gladiator-ness, if you know what I’m talking about.

Snow White and the Huntsman
Yup, went to see this movie. At first I was like, yeah this could be something, because they are making a “darker” version of the snow white movie with Julia Roberts in it. Although Kirsten Steward was playing Snow, which I thought was already not the right choice, she is not the beauty that embodies Snow White, and she is just one of the most irritating actresses out there, it was worth to give the movie a try just because of the special effects and of course Chris “Thor” Hemsworth and Charlize Theron.
Note. My girlfriend loved the movie………….figures…LOL.
I’m not going to talk about the acting performance of Kristen Steward….it sucked! Chris did a good job and Charlize as well, she plays a psyco witch like we’ve never seen before, although sometimes she gets pretty annoying, but not as annoying as Kristen Steward! Every time she got some sunlight I yelled “Burn you wack vampire freak lover!!!” Helaas, that could not happen.
I did like how they put out their version of the mirror on the wall. I liked it! The movie was indeed more grimey and grittier, but the pace of the story was just too slow. Kristen Steward showed no reason why she was cast as the titular charactor, she lacked the beauty and she did not convice that she was the most legendary princess from all the fairy tales. Perhaps when she will be playing the main villain in a movie I’d be more convinced about her skills.

Django Unchained
For everybody who’s wondering when crazy director but a mastermind “Quentin Tarantino” will come with a new film? He is working on a new movie which certainly will become another epic movie called: “Django Unchained.”
His last movie “The Inglorious Bastards” was freaking awesome, but “Kill Bill 2″ was not so cool as the first one. Still Quentin is one crazy ass director!!
This movie stars some big names such as: Leonardo DiCaprio, Jamie Foxx, Samuel.L.Jackson, Christoph Waltz, Kerry Washington. With names like this and Quentin directing you know it will be a kick ass movie! The movie is planned to be released in January 24th 2013 here in The Netherlands.
Jamie Foxx plays a slave who turns into a bounty hunter and with his mentor he sets out to his wife from a brutal Mississippi plantation owner.
Would like to see the trailer, hope it will be released soon!

The return of Will Smith!
Oh yeah finally, after 4 years the man is back on the big screen! I’m talking about Will Smith!
It has been 4 years since we last saw him on the big screen with his great movie “Seven Pounds” where he showed great acting.
The movie was an amazing story and showed a lot of emotion. Why did he not get an oscar yet?!
Well you all know that Will Smith is my role model when it comes to movies. Grew up watching The Fresh Prince of Bel Air and from the moment I saw Bad Boys I was like, this is tha man!!!!
Now he is back as MR.Summer Blockbuster! You can bet MIB:III will be a great movie!
In this third part Agent J ( Will Smith ) has to jump back into time to meet up with a young Agent K ( Josh Brolin ) to save the universe! The fun part is that Josh Brolin who plays the younger Agent K, played by Tommy Lee Jones, is doing the Tommy Lee Jones voice perfectly! From what I’ve heard in the trailers and as well during SNL ( Saturday Night Live ) show.
Also we will see Nicole Scherzinger in this movie, she will probably be a sexy alien. Rumor has it that Justin Bieber is also in the movie as an alien…I hope he gets lasered!!
This will be Will Smith’s first movie in 3D and Imax 3D! You know he will be having some huge ears! He already has these funny big flapping ears, but no worries, the technology is so advanced that his ears will not hit you in the face! whehehehe
It is a must to also release a game for a movie as big as this one, I haven’t been playing the game: MIB: Alien Crisis, don’t know if I will but the game looks kinda fun. You play another character, Peter Delacoeur, a MIB Agent in training assigned to unearth enemy aliens who are planning to destroy planet Earth. With hidden surveillance and stealthy guards on the prowl, players must ambush confidential alien intelligence and stop all alien attacks. You can see a game trailer below:
I am going to see the movie tonight and although it will be hard to make another summer box office hit, with the Avengers still in theatres and The Dark Knight Rises coming up, this movie sure will be a great summer movie!
UPDATE:
So I’ve seen the movie and what can I say…..Will Smith was awesome and funny as always, Josh Brolin was on point and Tommy Lee Jones as well, but it was not the big blockbuster come back for Will Smith as an actor. Why? Because the movie was just nice and funyn but not great. It lacked some of the comedic aspect of the first two movies, perhaps because of Barry Sonnenfeld, but then only when it comes to comedy, the visuals were just great and the story line was nice too, but still it missed something which the first two movies did have.
It was great to see Will Smith on the big screen again, I’m waiting for other movies such as Bad Boys 3 and Hancock 2.
So should you go see this movie? Yes, but you don’t have to go see it right away, unless you’re a Will Smith fan like I am.

The Expendables 2 trailer made me go NUTS!
Oke so we are all hyped about “The Amazing Spider-Man” and also for the new Batman movie: “The Dark Knight Rises.” Still we should not forget about this one movie that will bring an all star epic action movie actors squad to the big screen…YET AGAIN!!! I am talking about “THE EXPENDABLES 2!” They hype for this sequal begain when we learned that Arnold Schwarzenegger would return for a bigger part as well as Bruce Willes, and then they managed to get not only Scott Adkins and Chuck Norris…..nope they went even further, they brought back a name who we haven’t seen for more then 10 years on the big screen……JEAN CLAUDE VAN DAMME!!!
Now there was a teaser that came out, in this teaser you saw Sly talking with Bruce Willis, both bad ass in this teaser, then you saw some quick shots of the other cool actors ( I will drop a name list below ) and I was like, damn this is going to be another cool summer movie. Also there will be a female Expendable played by Chinese actress Yu Nan. She pretty.
Now that I have seen the trailer, which debuted exclusive on IGN on youtube, with Sly presenting the trailer….I saw something Epic again! It made me go and say: “Get tha hell outa here this shit is crazy!!!!!!!!!!!” Jean Claude van Damme vs Sylvester Stallone! You know this fight scene is going to be freaking awesome !!!! I know I will be seeing this movie a couple of times in the cinema just like the first one. I can’t wait for it to be released!
The Expendables 2 will take Barney Ross and his Expendables on a new mission which seems to be a simple job and a quick paycheck, however it is never easy and one of their own is getting killed, they are on a path of revenger….The Expendables style! Action action shooting shooting kicking ass and blowing stuff tha F*%$@ up!!

An X-Men: Origins Gambit movie?
I’ve been checking the website of Pathe, which is the name of the movie theatres here in Amsterdam, The Netherlands. They also have those cool IMAX rooms. But I was browsing on the website of Pathe and wanted to see which movies would be shown here and when. When I reached page 9 of the Pathe website, I a saw an interesting poster……it is the poster of a new X-Men Origins movie named “Gambit!” Say what?!!! I could not believe what I was seeing so I stared at the image for a minute, reading the title. I saw the name of Taylor Kitsch ( John Carter, Battleship & Gambit in X-Men Origins: Wolverine), I went crazy! Gambit is in the X-Men comics one of the cool dudes! Except I did not really like Taylor Kitsch’s take on the character. I missed the whole….French Cajun swag as well as the accent. Would Taylor still be able to portray the Gambit we all know and love in a solo movie? I don’t know, he was great in John Carter, but as Gambit in Wolverine he sucked! Maybe if he reads about Gambit more and watches those 90’s X-Men cartoon series who are still amazing, he’ll see how Gambit really should be like. I’ve been scourging the web to find some news about this movie, but read that there is no real plan to do a Gambit movie yet and more important Taylor Kitsch does not even know if they will be doing the movie…well in the interviews I read he said he does not know but he wants Gambit to be more dark. Unfortunately there is no other or new news about a Gambit movie, so I’m wondering how Pathe knows about this movie. Frankly I would love to see a Gambit movie, but they should remove the “ X-Men Origins” title, it sucks. Just go like the new Wolverine movie which is simply called; “Wolverine.” Since “The Avengers” hit it big time this month, I’ve seen it twice already, we will not see a X-men based movie until next year with “Wolverine” starring Hugh Jackman as the main character again. I hope he makes Wolverine a bit more animalistic. If “Gambit” would be released this year on October 31st….it would be hopefully a pleasant surprise. Unfortunatly Pathe posted the wrong poster because the movie they talk about is the movie directed by Michael Hoffman

Project: Café
Started shooting my foto project: Cafe, on sunday May 6th in the new Sushi restaurant Ichi-E in Amsterdam-Zuid-oost. But before we got there, I had to pick up my homie and photographer Pinta Mawi ( Go check out his facebook: http://www.facebook.com/pintamawi?ref=ts). The man called me a day before telling me he got struck by a mild flue, that was not good news, still he managed to sweat it all out in one day. The dude is awesome! Much thanks go out to him!
Around 9am I arrived at his apartment to pick him up by car. He wanted to bring some lighting with him, eventually we did not have to use the lighting because we used the natural light of the location.
Around 10:30am all the others who are involved in the project arrived at my apartment. It was me myself and I together with Pinta Mawi, Lorraine den Engelsman as girl one, Vivian as girl two, Sheena Keyer who took on the styling for the girls, also check out: www.sheenakeyer.com and Wanda Manku who took on the make-up.
Before I could do my introduction thank you speech, we just talked and talked and because the sun was shining I opened a window and yes somebody’s Rayban sunglasses fell out of the window down on the pavement. Wanda almost died haha.
We arrived at 2:30pm at restaurant Ichi-E, a very nice Japanese restaurant where they serve some nice sushi. If you are ever in Amsterdam Zuid-Oost, go check it out. Because we were there 30minutes in advanced we could work out our working schedule and start with the shoot at 3pm. The initial idea was to use only the first floor but we heard the second and third floor were not booked for the day. So we decided to move to those floors for the rest of the shoot. We had all the time and space. Lovely!
So let me tell you a bit about the story. The story of Café is inspired by the song “Café” performed by big time Korean pop group; “Big Bang,” who are signed with “YG.Entertainment.” These dudes are freakishly popular in Asia and are taking the western world by storm! I wrote a short story about a guy who works in a restaurant and when a girl walks in, he is taken away by her beauty. He manages to get a date with her, drinking coffee, but she is not really into him. Meanwhile another girl who’s kind of a regular in the café sees the guy’s being stood up, she then takes her chance to finally talk to the guy. That is the story in short.
The whole project was shot as a photo shoot, wanted to try something else for a change, the only thing I’m bugging about is how am I going to present the series of pictures. Don’t know yet but I will work that out. Oh there will be a behind the scenes video. My good friend Ishan Qureshi stopped by to capture the whole day on film, I will try to edit it into a nice video.
So I need to thank the people I worked with because without you guys this project would not be completed. So here goes the shout out: I hereby want to thank my friends:
